Going out: | Some good rock pubs, with late licences till 12 on a regular night and 2 or later at weekends. Cheap Wetherspoons in the form of the Coronet. Kebabs not as good as Green Lanes, but greasy spoons providing breakfast for under £3. |
Shopping: | Morrisons for cut-throat prices and staff who hate your guts, but super bargains, particularly on meat and fish; Waitrose for treats, particularly the fruit beer and cheesecake. Nag's Head market is okay for fairly non-perishable fruit n veg, but if you want the good stuff go to the turkish shops on seven sisters. The markets are good for cheap fabrics, and there are several decent charity shops, including the wonderful Traid, and a Primark for cheap gear. |
Transport connections: | Trees everywhere, but few large grassy areas, nearest being the rather optimistically named Paradise Park. |
Open spaces: | My personal best time is 17 minutes to UCL by tube. When the piccadilly line is down (which is fairly rare) it's a 10 minute bus ride to either highbury and islington (victoria) or archway (northern). The good ol' 29 serves us well, with about 40 mins to central london and 30 to camden. |
What you'd change if you could: | The lairy football fans on match days. The screaming children in all the primary schools. |
